Real chart questions

Read sectional charts like the real test asks you to.

Since October 26, 2026, the Part 107 test shows images of real aeronautical charts. Hovertest builds its chart questions from the current FAA sectional charts and the FAA's own airspace, airport and obstacle data, so you practice on the same kind of excerpt.

  • Airspace and authorization: which class is the drone in at the marked point, and do you need ATC authorization? Every answer is cross-checked against the FAA UAS Facility Map (LAANC grid).
  • Airport data blocks: field elevation, runway length, ATIS frequency.
  • Obstacles: height above sea level or above ground, the classic trap.
  • Pinch to zoom on every excerpt, just like on the testing center screen.
